General Ps3 News

Looks like the PS3 controller that we have all come to love so much (Yeah right) has been scrapped. The controller so often referred to as the 'Boomerang' is being scrapped in favor of a more sleek design according to some sources. The controller wasn't recieved too well by its own fan base, which has prompted sony to take a fresh look into the situation to see if they can come up with a better design which would be benificial to all, and just plain liked more by its core fans....

Again, details on the expected new design are under lock and key. They'll have to do a pretty good job on the design I'd expect as there have been many a concept design created by sonys fanbase which would be worthy of mass production themselves...

THis sorta upsets me..rnyes yes, i know it looked stupid..rnbut the thing is, ye never really KNOW how somethin is gonna be till ye tries it..rnrnLook at the Revolution controller.. tell me for as crazy as the thing looks, that ye aint itchin to try it..rnrnOne thing i have ta say about it is this, and i'll be silent on the matter.. rnSony has a R&D department that spends big bucks developing what it believes ta be the best fer the consumer based on consumer input, design, and product cost. What this tells me, is that in the end, the 'boomerang' as we so affectionately calls it, was selected from Kituragi knows HOW many 'rejected' alternatives. rnAnd as noone has even PLAYED a ps3 yet, noone knows how the controller felt, performed, or even had a chance ta develope a true opinion on it based on strong 'hands-on'rnrnIt's sad how cosmetic appeal determines what the consumer market gets. As a result, this late in the game, we could be getting a plain jane, sub-standard regular run-o-the-mill controller, instead of something truly revolutionary.. are ye willing to accept that ye might have missed out on something truly ground breaking, because ye didnt like the way it looked?rnrnIf'n ye are, then good for ye.rnAs fer me, i'm always gonna be wonderin what i missed..

Welll each to his own peeps, I'm willing to bet (a small amount) that they'll have them on sale somewhere as a novelty controller maybe.rnrnI found that when I first saw the controller I just didn't like it, but I got used to the Idea. However its not something that I was ever truely looking forward to, it was something I kinda forced myself to like rather than look forward to using....rnrnWe'll have to wait and see what the new controller will look like, I think the concept was fine. But something just didn't sit right with me as far as the controller was concerned being a big fan of the standard shape Dual-Shock controller...rnrn--Xeauron
